One of the world's greatest economic scale, Brazil is also a country with one of the greatest disparities in income in the world. With a vast land area and magnificent natural features such as the Amazon tropical rain forest, Brazil has such diverse and abundant natural resources as minerals and energy sources, and global prominence in such agricultural products as grain and meat. Brazil has a large presence that may affect on global issues such as the environment and climate change, resources and energy, and food security. JICA's support to Brazil is primarily focused on: 1)urban issues and management of environment and disaster risks, and 2) triangular cooperation.
