Volunteer Program

Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers

Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) were first dispatched to Burkina Faso in 2000, growing to 63 volunteers as of April 1, 2008. Their efforts under JICA cooperation programs include activities across the country which are implemented with the participation of local communities.

Areas of Specialty

Rural development promoters; rice, vegetable and fruit agriculturalists; livestock breeders; crop cultivation experts;
tree planters; environmental educators;
elementary school teachers; physical education; judo instructors; volleyball coaches;
baseball coaches
youth activity leaders;
nurses and healthcare givers; physical therapists; prosthetists and orthotists; health statisticians;
homemaking;
computer technicians;
