Comoros

The Comoros are suffering from several issues such as high food import dependency, infrastructure vulnerability and deficiency in electricity. Furthermore, because the government's policy planning and implementation capacity remains low, the Comoros need assistance which benefits directly the local population through the empowerment of local communities. Therefore, JICA's cooperation is primarily focused on sectors such as medical services (Prevention of infectious diseases and Maternal and Child Health etc.), agricultural and fishing community development, education and vocational training program.
