Former JOCV member donates Sporting Clothing to Botswana Judo Federation (BJF)

Mr. Rukiya MURAKAMI who is the former Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV) JUDO Coach at Botswana Judo Federation, donated Judo sporting clothing to his former counterpart in efforts to continuously support them. The sporting clothing was organized and secured through Mr. Murakami's network and efforts with the Japanese community. The sportswear comprises of sixty three (63) pants, eighteen (18) sweaters and twenty-nine (29) sports bags.

The President of BJF, Mr. Kingsley Segokotlo when accepting the donation, expressed delight and gratitude to Mr. Murakami through JICA for the kind donation, which he said, indicated that he is still very much with them. He shared that his athletes that he had been training during his stay in Botswana, had really wanted him to stay longer but as we are all affected by the pandemic, their beloved coach had to return back home.

Mr. Segokotlo also highlighted that the Federation and JICA have enjoyed great cooperation over the years with the former having received three other JOCV Judo Coaches as well as some JUDO equipment, which was donated and still being utilized presently. He expressed hope that their two organization will continue to work together for the improvement and success of Botswana Judo Federation.

Mr. Murakami who had joined the ceremony through a Zoom connection, thanked BJF for hosting him and wished them success in all their endeavors.
