VersionⅠ,JICA-Colombia, we want some way to transmit the living voices of the victims of conflicts

One of the primary conditions for the construction of peace is to face the past of conflict and violence in order to have a strong conscience about the importance of peace and not to repeat the tragedy again. With this purpose, since last time, we have begun to share with you the direct voices of the victims through the presentation of the two books published by the Medellín Municipal Office in 2007. This time I would like to share with you the summary of the voices found in the first book "I will never forget your name."

VersionⅡ,JICA-Colombia, we want some way to transmit the living voices of the victims of conflicts

JICA has continued to support victims through technical cooperation for the peacebuilding process promoted by the Colombian people and the Colombian government, and its policy will not change in the future. On the other hand, JICA is the executing agency for Japan's Official Development Assistance, and the understanding of the Japanese people is essential for continuing cooperation on the issue. Therefore, as a premise, I think it is necessary to convey properly the voices of the victims of the conflict to the Japanese people. JICA Colombia is trying to translate two books published by the Medellín Municipal Office that compile the live voices of the victims of conflicts in Antioquia and around Medellín into Japanese and convey it to the people in Japan and the world who are friends and great supporters of the Colombian people. This time, I would like to share the outline of our activities with you.
