Knowledge Co-Creation Program on Solid Waste Management in Partnership with Private Sector and Civil Society

The Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) on “Solid Waste Management in Partnership with Private Sector and Civil Society” was successfully conducted.
From 10 November to 17 December 2025, JICA welcomed 10 participants from Iran, the Dominican Republic, India, Moldova, Mozambique, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Sudan and Thailand for an intensive, hands-on experience.
The program consists of two phases of study. The online phase was conducted from 10 to 25 November, followed by the face-to-face phase in Japan from 26 November to 17 December 2025.

Throughout the program, participants gained knowledge and skills in the following areas:

1)To clarify the common issues and country-specific issues regarding Solid Waste Management.
2)To comprehend the laws, regulations, and systems of solid waste management by central and local governments in Japan, and to clarify the differences between Japan and the participants' respective countries.
3)To comprehend concepts and methods of resource recycling and 3Rs and to find the ways of application in participants' country.
4)To acquire the know-how to build a sustainable society through the activities of government, communities, and corporations.
5)To formulate an action plan toward a sustainable recycle-oriented society.

We anticipate that participants will effectively apply the knowledge and best practices acquired in Japan to meaningful initiatives in their home countries, fostering improved environmental sustainability.
