Press Release Third Country Training Programme “Embracing the New Way of Tourism and Delivery by Adopting Muslim Friendly Hospitality Services Requirements”

JICA Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and “Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) ”, will organise the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) ‘Embracing the New Way of Tourism and Delivery by Adopting Muslim Friendly Hospitality Services Requirements’ from 17 November - to 27 November 2024.

TCTP is a type of technical cooperation whereby JICA in partnership with one developing country organises a training course in the said country and invite participants from other developing countries to participate. The purpose of such training program is to share Japan and Malaysia’s experience in the particular field and strengthen capacity of the participants to deal with various development issues in their own country.

In Malaysia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia has been implementing the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since the year 1980 and have been jointly implementing TCTP with JICA since 1992.

For this TCTP, the SIRIM will be the training institute and will accept 10 trainees from ASEAN and Central Asian sia countries to provide training on Muslim-friendly. The outline of the training is as follows:

  1. Overview:
In this course, SIRIM as the Training Institution will share Malaysia’s experiences and
best practices in Embracing the New Way of Tourism and Delivery by Adopting Muslim
Friendly Hospitality Services Requirements.
The 10-days physical course includes:


(i) Introduction to concept and understanding the framework of Muslim Friendly Hospitality Services (MFHS)

(ii) Site visit to industry, local companies and organizations related to MFHS

(iii) Sharing session and country presentation
