2025.01.20
On January 16, 2025, the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) of the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Takasago Thermal Engineering Co., Ltd., and its Malaysian subsidiary, T.T.E Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd., signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the continued joint operation of the Takasago Thermal Environmental Systems iKohza (laboratories) and the establishment of a satellite laboratory. The agreement marks a new phase in their collaboration over the next three years.
The Takasago Thermal Environmental Systems iKohza was established in 2015 with the support of Takasago Thermal Engineering. Since then, MJIIT and Takasago Thermal Engineering have engaged in various collaborative activities, including the operation of the iKohza, educational and research activities, and the students’ internships at the company. The Takasago Thermal Environmental Systems iKohza is the only corporate-sponsored iKohza among the 20 of the iKohza at MJIIT, making Takasago Thermal Engineering a key partner for the institution.
At the signing ceremony, Prof. Ts. Dr. Ali Bin Selamat, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affirs & Alumni) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous support and cooperation since the establishment of MJIIT and reiterated his strong commitment to further strengthening their collaboration. Mr. Kazuto Kojima, President of Takasago Thermal Engineering Co., Ltd., stated, “We want to work together to solve societal challenges, such as carbon neutrality.” Mr. Masashi Sato, Managing Director of T.T.E Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd., expressed the goal of promoting human resource development through joint research and internships.
With the participation of T.T.E Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. and the establishment of the satellite laboratory, the new collaboration agreement is expected to diversify educational and research support, and launch new research initiatives, aiming for the expansion and further development of the collaborative impact.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is supporting MJIIT through a technical cooperation project. Currently, JICA is assisting in strengthening the function of the Malaysia-Japan Linkage Office, which was established in July 2023 to promote collaboration between industries in Malaysia and Japan, as well as universities in Japan and ASEAN.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could consider featuring the signing of the collaboration agreement with Takasago Thermal Engineering in your publication.
