JICA Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation(MATRADE), will organise the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) ‘Trade Promotion for African Countries’ from 08 October to 15 October, 2025.
TCTP is a type of technical cooperation whereby JICA in partnership with one developing country organises a training course in the said country and invite participants from other developing countries to participate. The purpose of such training program is to share the experiences of Japan and Malaysia in the particular field and strengthen capacity of the participants to deal with various development issues in their own country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia has been implementing the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since 1980 and has been jointly implementing the TCTP with JICA since 1992.
For this TCTP, MATRADE will be the training institute and will accept 12 trainees from 9 countries from African countries to provide training on sharing Malaysia and Japan’s experiences and best practises in trade promotion and raising awareness among the participants of global and regional trade developments and issues. The trainees are mostly government officials in-charged for promoting trade and exports-imports for their countries.

2. Overview
In this course, MATRADE as the Training Institution (TI) will share Malaysia’s experiences and best practices in Trade Promotion. The course includes:
(i) Visitation to MATRADE and Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI)
(ii) Sharing sessions by Malaysian private companies in various fields namely renewable energy, digital halal ecosystem, road construction and food beverages
(iii) Sharing session by JICA’s expert in trade promotion from Japanese perspective
(iv) Study Tours to PETRONAS Bhd., PROTON Sdn. Bhd,, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) and rail related Malaysian private company.
