【Press Release】Implementation of Third Country Training Programme “Renewable Energy Awareness through TVET”

JICA Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and Centre for Instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST), will organize the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) “Renewable Energy Awareness through TVET” in Selangor, Malaysia.

This program is part of the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) and Japan’s ongoing support for ASEAN Partnership in response of global challenges within Asian region.

TCTP is a form of technical cooperation where JICA, in partnership with a developing country, organizes a training course in that country and invites participants from other developing countries. The aim is to share Japan and Malaysia’s experiences and strengthen the capacity of participants to address development challenges in their own countries.

For this TCTP, CIAST will serve as the training institute and will accept up to 15 participants from Timor-Leste. The training will focus on the area of renewable energy through Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) program. The outline of the training is as follows:

through TVET

(ii) Training Institute: Centre for Instructor and
Advanced Skill Training (CIAST)

(iii) Training period: 02 October till 14 October 2025

(iv) Training venue: Centre for Instructor and
Advanced Skill Training (CIAST), Shah Alam

(v) Target countries: (1 Country) Timor-Leste

  1. Overview:

In this course, CIAST as the Training Institution (TI) will share Japan and Malaysia’s experiences and empower participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to support the transition to sustainable energy solutions.


The 13-days physical course includes:
  • Classroom lectures, practical hands-on workshop and assignments
Introduction to Renewable Energy, solar energy, wind and hydropower and the fundamental of biomass and geothermal energy.
