【Press Release】Implementation of Third Country Training Programme “Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy”

JICA Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and Japan-Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI), will organize the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) ‘Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy’ from 2– 13 October 2025.
TCTP is a type of technical cooperation whereby JICA in partnership with one developing country organises a training course in the said country and invite participants from other developing countries to participate. The purpose of such training program is to share the experiences of Japan and Malaysia in the digital economy cybersecurity field and strengthen capacity of the participants to deal with various development issues in their own country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia has been implementing the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since 1980 and has been jointly implementing the TCTP with JICA since 1992.
For this TCTP, JMTI will be the training institute and will accept 15 trainees from Asian countries to provide training on cybersecurity fundamentals and practical skills to protect important data, systems and digital transactions. The trainees are mostly government officials in-charged of managing digital data and cybersecurity for their countries. The outline of the training is as follows:
