【Press Release】Implementation of Third Country Training Programme “Occupational Safety and Health Management”

JICA Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia (DOSH), will organize the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) ‘Occupational Safety and Health Management’ from 6 - 17 October 2025.


TCTP is a type of technical cooperation whereby JICA in partnership with one developing country organises a training course in the said country and invite participants from other developing countries to participate. The purpose of such training program is to share the experiences of Japan and Malaysia in occupational safety and health as well as strengthening participant’s capacity to deal with various development issues in their own country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia has been implementing the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since 1980 and has been jointly implementing the TCTP with JICA since 1992.


For this TCTP, DOSH Malaysia will be the training institute and will accept 15 trainees from Asian countries to provide training on occupational safety and health management. The trainees are mostly government officials in-charged of occupational safety and health management for their countries. The outline of the training is as follows:

  1. Training period: 6 October – 17 October 2025

     
  1. Training Venue: Various corporates in Selangor and Malacca (Classroom lectures, practical training and site visits), DOSH Putrajaya & Royal Chulan Hotel KL.

  1. Target Countries: 11 Countries (1. Bangladesh, 2. Cambodia, 3. Indonesia, 4. Lao PDR, 5. Nepal, 6. Pakistan, 7. Philippines, 8. Sri Lanka, 9. Timor-Leste, 10. Thailand and 11. Vietnam)

  1. Overview:

In this course, Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) as the Training Institution (TI) will share Malaysia’s experiences and best practices in occupational safety and health management.



The 12-days physical course includes:
  1. Introduction to OSH Management in Malaysia

  1. OSH policies and strategies in Malaysia and Japan

  1. Practical session in the industry and OSH related practical tools (HIRARC etc.)

Date: 17 October 2025 (Friday)
