2025.08.01

The JICA Namibia Office successfully hosted a Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) workshop under the theme “Strengthening Justice through Shared Knowledge: Lessons Learned from the Japanese Criminal Justice System.” The event brought together former participants of KCCP training programs who shared insights and knowledge gained from their experiences in Japan.

A total of six alumni presented their learnings, offering comparative perspectives on Japan’s criminal justice system. The workshop also featured a virtual presentation by a professor from the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI), who provided updates on ongoing justice-related projects in Namibia.

The workshop drew 61 participants from key institutions, including the Namibian Correctional Service (NCS), Namibian Police Force, City Police, Office of the Chief Justice, and students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Attendees engaged in dynamic discussions, comparing the Japanese and Namibian criminal justice systems, and explored opportunities for future development and reform within the Namibian context.
