Five new Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Volunteers arrived in Palau on August 12 and have commenced their assignments following the completion of a two-week post-arrival program. The volunteers began their activities at their respective host institutions on August 31.

The new volunteers, from left to right, are:

Mr. UTO Daiya, assigned to the Special Education Program, Ministry of Education (MOE), in the field of Welfare for Persons with Disabilities;
Ms. OKADA Asahi, assigned as a teacher at Ngardmau Elementary School, MOE;
Ms. SUZUKI Shiori, assigned as a teacher at Meyuns Elementary School, MOE;
Ms. KATSUBE Chisano, assigned as a teacher at Maris Stella School; and
Mr. ABE Taichi, assigned to the Ngardmau State Government in the field of Community Development.
