“JICA: a History of Trust”

“JICA: a History of Trust”, a documentary that highlights JICA’s 60 year-long cooperation in Panama, was presented on August 25th.
The event was held with the assistance of H.E. Jorge Almengor, Vice-Minister of Finance of Ministry of Economy and Finance; H.E. Yill Otero, Vice-Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs; H.E. José Batista, Vice-Minister of Territorial Planning of Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning; H.E. Hideo Fukushima, Ambassador of Japan to Panama; Miyazaki Katsura, Senior Vice President of JICA for Latin America and the Caribbean and Kanagawa Makoto, Chief Representative of JICA Panama.

The documentary was developed within the framework of the 60 years of history of technical and financial cooperation provided by JICA Panama and consists of the testimony how cooperation of JICA has brought not only impact on sustainable development of the country but transformative experience of professional career of counterpart personnel.

Its production was carried out by the counterpart of the first Technical Cooperation Project in Panama: State Radio and Television System (Sertv), to which JICA awarded the recognition for its great support in the creation of this audiovisual work.
The event was also attended by various Panamanian counterparts and beneficiaries who have been an important part of the history of JICA in this country. The activity was pleasantly marked by emotional words of gratitude from them.
“JICA: a History of Trust” will be broadcasted on Sertv on September 9th and is expected to reach most of the Panamanian population, and JICA continues to firmly implement cooperation to further strengthen the relationship of trust with Panama.
