International Women’s Day Solidarity Walk 2024

JICA PNG office joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Women’s Day by supporting the Active City Development and NCD Governor’s office to host a solidarity walk with the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress” on Sunday March 10^th 2024.

About 800 participants gathered at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium at 5am in the morning and started walking up to Ela Beach (Approx. 5km), to raise awareness of the importance of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion.

JICA will continue to support Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment through various schemes to realize a society where every individual, regardless of gender, can fulfill their potential.
