Bordering districts of Tajikistan with Afghanistan

- Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan;
7) Project Objective:
To promote stability and security in the districts of Khatlon region of Tajikistan through improving livelihoods and resilience of communities in the bordering areas.
8) Project Scope / Activities:
- To enhance capacity to manage local development process;
- To rehabilitate rural infrastructure and services;
- To enhance job and income opportunities for sustainable local economic development;
- To exchange cross-border information and experience;
- To promote cross-border economic cooperation;
- To improve cross-border disaster risk management.
9) Expected Results:
- Communities in the bordering areas of Tajikistan and Afghanistan enjoy better governance, access to rural infrastructure and services, as well as economic development opportunities.
- Cross-border communities have better opportunities for cross-border interactions and dialogue.
