Reflecting Together: JICA's Journey of Solidarity and Support Since the Türkiye-Syria Earthquake

As we move beyond the one-year mark of the devastating earthquake that struck Türkiye and Syria on 6th February 2023, we have compiled a booklet to share our experiences and the stories of those we've stood beside during this period.

In this publication, we have chosen to focus on personal stories and reflections from our Office staffs, Rescue and Medical Team of Japan Disaster Relief (JDR), and Turkish officials who participated in training programs in Japan. It's a reflection on how we've worked closely with the people and the government of Türkiye, in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.

As we continue to build on the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Türkiye, this booklet serves as a modest reminder of our shared experiences and the resilience we have witnessed.
