On 11 July 2025, JICA signed a Partnership Agreement with the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), the Estonian government development agency.
JICA is implementing a technical cooperation titled ‘the project for enhancing private sector engagement for the reconstruction of Ukraine’ aimed at contributing to the promotion of private sector engagement for Ukraine, including supports for Japanese companies’ promotion of their products and services in Ukraine. Under this project, one of the Japanese companies NICHIHA Corporation will deliver their façade system for residential construction to Ukraine, and JICA have signed the partnership agreement with ESTDEV to collaborate with ESTDEV's project for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine, “Modular Housing for IDPs in Brusyliv, Zhytomyr region” for NICHIHA Corporation’s delivery.
This partnership agreement was unveiled at the ‘Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Forum’ held on 4 August 2025, with Mr. Oliver Ait, Commercial Officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Japan, and Mr. Shohei Hara, Senior Vice President of JICA.
