Surveillance for Infectious Diseases

" Project for Strengthening Laboratory-based Surveillance for Infectious Diseases" started in April 2023 as a project to improve the capacity of the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI)/Zambia National Public Health Reference Laboratory (ZNPHRL) to conduct laboratory-based surveillance through capacity building for sample testing, quality management system, and building network with stakeholders. Although still in the preparation stage for full-scale operation, Japanese experts will continue to work with the laboratory scientists to improve the quality of the laboratory. The photo shows the distribution of original lab coats with JICA and ZNPHI embroidery to the laboratory scientists and a study meeting with staff members in preparation for an upcoming academic meeting.
