Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP, Training Program)

Utilising Japan's experience and knowledge for the further development of the Recipient

JICA's Knowledge Co-Creation Program involves the transfer of knowledge and technology required by respective countries through the training of key administrators, technicians and researchers in developing countries and regions. This is one of the most fundamental human development programs implemented by JICA. The program has grown steadily not only in scale but also in terms of contents since it was launched in 1954.

These trainings are provided on various fields such as health, education, water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction, administration, energy, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, transportation and industry promotion etc.

Schemes of JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program

Group and Region FocusThe Group and Region Focused program is designed to offer information for solving developmental issues. JICA has about 400 courses under the aforementioned program. Approx. 50 courses are selected by the Recipient country each year so that the offered courses will meet the needs in the country.
Young LeadersYoung Leaders program is designed to provide young people with technological expertise available in Japan. There will be one or two course(s) available for a country and theme of the course(s) to be changed every year. A course will last for two weeks and approx. 10 participants per country will be able to join.
Country Focus The Country Focus program is offered to build capacity of counterparts of technical cooperation projects which JICA implements. The program is tailor-made and a counterpart personnel's capacity is expected to be strengthened by sharing of technology that has been introduced in Japan. This program not only empowers the counterpart but also ensure the sustainability of the projects implemented.
Long-termLong-term program is for those who wish to acquire Masters or Ph.D. degree from a Japanese university. By joining this program, participants will be able to obtain a degree based on one's research in a specific field and experiences to live in Japan. The participants who joined the program are expected to contribute to further development of the country by using the knowledge acquired and to bridge Pakistan and Japan.
