Request Procedures for JICA Projects

Applying for the JICA's Technical Cooperation Assistance

JICA's cooperation is provided based on request which Government of Japan Officially received from the Government of Pakistan.

The requests from federal and provincial government departments, institutions and ministries should be channeled through their parent organizations to the Economic Affairs Division (EAD). EAD after screening at federal level further sends these proposals to the Embassy of Japan (EOJ).

Concerning official requests for Technical Cooperation Project, Development Studies and Grant Aid, the Government of Japan conducts a Request Survey once in every financial year all over the world to screen received requests for Cooperation projects implemented in the next financial year. However requests for seeking JICA volunteers are received round the year.

The requests for cooperation projects are expected to be proposed based on the focus areas of the Government of Japan for Pakistan and these request proposals have to be prepared on the designation forms. The Embassy of Japan routes these requests to the ministry of Foreign Affairs for final approval.

Government of Japan selects the mature proposals and the result of the Request Survey is informed to the Government of recipient countries including Pakistan in the end of March as the Japanese financial year starts from April.
