• The pilot projects in 2014 will be conducted in Morobe and Western Highlands province.
• In Morobe province, Bukawa Road is the first choice for the pilot project site and Leron Wantoat Road is the second choice.
• In Western Highlands province, Balg to Baisu Avi Road is the first choice of the pilot project site and Kuta Road is the second choice but further discussion needed with provincial office.
• Pilot project sites in East Sepik province and West New Britain province for next year will be selected after field survey and discussion with DoW.
• The pilot projects will not disturb private business and other donor agency’s projects.
• The pilot projects are a part of the DoW maintenance plan and cost shall be borne by DoW.
• The JICA expert team will advise regarding planning of road maintenance and actual maintenance work through the pilot project carried out by DoW.
• Before starting the pilot projects, the JICA expert team conducts workshops for communities around the project sites in order to carry out the project smoothly.
