OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

  • Improvement of capacity in planning, monitoring and evaluation of regional health offices and districts;
  • Improvement of capacity in management of resources (human and financial resources, drugs, medical facilities in medical health regions and districts;
  • Sharing lessons learned from the project in Tambacounda Kedougou and elsewhere.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The PARSS contributed to the development of tools and guides including the Annual Work Plan (PTA) which will allow sharing project results with other regions of the country. With the tools and guides, health services personal will acquire knowledge and practical skills in planning, development, monitoring and evaluation of PTA according to a standard procedure in the PTA Guide.
Activities under the project also helped to provide to health centers and posts agents two intervention packages. The first package includes an implementation manual and a trainer's guide to improve the quality of health services following 5S approach (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), the second includes a resource management tools, for human resources, drugs and health information health (OGRIS) and its trainers guide.
Other development partners in the health sector of Senegal participated in the preparation of these documents and some are positioned to finance training activities and implementation. Through these activities, the management capacity of regional and districts health offices will be strengthened; they can also contribute to the improvement of the health condition of populations of Tambacounda and Kedougou.
