OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
- Better understand business environment;
- Identify investment opportunities in Senegal;
- Encourage efficiently the Japanese private investment in Senegal.
PROJECT SUMMARY
During the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV), the Government of Japan announced his intention to increase the Official Development Assistance (ODA) towards African countries and encourage private investments in Africa by 2012.
The Government of Senegal decided to take advantage of this opportunity to promote his attractive feature to Japanese investors and encourage them to invest in Senegal. That’s justifies the assignment of the Advisor at APIX to help them to develop a strategy to attract Japanese investments in Senegal.
Further to his assignment, a delegation composed by 11 private japanese companies of average size specialized in Logistics; Recycling of ressources, Machinery, Textile, Environment, and Horticulture etc. had stay in Senegal from 11 to 14 November 2012 for conquering new markets in Senegal and at the same time promoting economic relationship between Senegal and Japan.
It is in the same context that a jointly seminar was organized by APIX and JICA to allow Japanese investors to identify investment opportunities and establish contacts.
In addition, a seminar on business opportunities was held in japan for exploring news prospects at economic and commercial level.
For this purpose, the advisor accompanied a delegation of Senegalese business men to promote the private investment for Senegal and ensure the follow-up contacts that will be established.
