The advisor on local governance and administration is expected to improve awareness of the leaders of PMO-RALG, the Regional Secretariats and Local Government Authorities, through providing advice on local government reform progress and systems of local government, etc.
JICA has dispatched a local government advisor to PMO-RALG since 2002, and the present expert, Mr. Michiyuki Shimoda, is the second one. He will not only work on the advisory works, but will also coordinate various JICA projects activities and Local Government Reform Programme 2 which is currently being implemented by Government of Tanzania by playing a role of a JICA programme advisor.
