With the objective of preventing HIV/AIDS infections, JICA provides HIV test kits as well as medicines for syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases. About half of the HIV test kits supplied in Tanzania are provided by Japanese grant aid, and testing is offered free of charge at health facilities.
The prevention of infectious diseases shall begin with testing. The president of Tanzania has been leading the campaign to promote HIV testing. These test kits will save many people's lives.
