Case study - Road Sector Support Project I & II

Together with the African Development Bank, JICA provided cooperation for upgrading road network from Bonga-Mayamaya road Section, Dodoma- Iringa road section through the capital city Dodoma, and Mtwara Corridor.

In October 2017, construction works on the section of more than 400km was completed. It also meant completion of the economic corridor Trans-Africa Highway No.4. The highway was proposed in 1970 as a massive scheme extending more than 10,000km linking South Africa and Egypt, and symbolized the vastness of the African continent.

The new road will create links between people across national borders, and promote more active exchange.
