Beneficiaries of JICA Training Programs to Hold Their First Activity - A Visit to A Leather Product Company Owned by JICA Ex-Participants on 11th September, 2020

The JICA Alumni Association of Tanzania (JATA) will conduct an observation visit to the activity of their fellow ex-participants, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Mlay, on Friday, the 11th September, 2020 as per details below:

Date: 11th September, 2020
Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Venue: Bunju ‘B' Dar es Salaam - Fay Fashion Tanzania
Guest of Honor: Dr. Edwin P. Mhede (PhD) - Commissioner General, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)

[Note] Dr. Mhede received both his Master's and PhD in Japan, through JICA's and Japanese Ministry of Education's scholarship programs, and is an honorable member of JATA.

Note: Registration for attending members from the press will commence at 11:00 am.

"Fay Fashion Tanzania" is a leather product company which was established and is being operated by Mr. Gregory Mlay and Mrs. Faith Mlay, who both were selected and participated in JICA's long-term training program in Japan called "African Business Education Initiative (ABE Initiative)". They are among active young private entrepreneurs, whose company produces high quality leather products utilizing the IT and business skills they acquired in Japan.

This event will be an opportunity for participants to know how "Fay Fashion Tanzania" runs their own business successfully by utilizing what they learnt in Japan together with challenges they are facing and how they are dealing with such challenges. The participants will also have a chance to see the actual operations of the company.

This activity is one of the activities which are organized by JATA and is open to all members of the Association. JATA is planning to hold other interesting activities this year as well, including a visit to a JICA project, Zanzibar PR event, a zonal meeting, etc., and anybody who had had the opportunity of training in Japan under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is more than welcomed to join.
