Beneficiaries of JICA Training Programs to Visit a Company Owned by One of Their Colleagues - July 31, 2021

Members of the JICA Alumni Association of Tanzania (JATA), will on July 31, 2021 make an observation tour of KPLT Traders - a Company which was formed by a Tanzanian after he successfully completed his studies in Japan under the sponsorship of JICA.

Located at Mbezi Luis in Dar es salaam, the Company produces high quality coconut oil and the product it produces trades as "Virgin Coconut Oil".

The owner of KPLT Traders joined a JICA training program in 2016-2019 and got a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics in Japan. After returning to Tanzania, he started his own business, KPLT Traders. Since production started in 2020, the Company has succeeded to produce more than 500 liters of virgin coconut oil and aims at even higher production in both quality and quantity.

This visit to KPLT Traders is intended to stimulate other beneficiaries of JICA's Training programs to share with other people the knowledge they obtained in Japan and thereby lead into the creation of new employment opportunities and hence contribute to county's economic growth. This visit will also provide an opportunity for JATA members to learn how virgin coconut oil is produced and sold but above all they will also learn how they can also contribute towards the country's economic development by utilizing the knowledge they obtained from JICA training.

This visit is one of the activities, which are organized by JATA annually, and is open to all members of the Association. JATA is planning to hold other interesting activities this year including a Zanzibar Public Relations Event, Seminars etc. These events and activities are open to anybody who had the opportunity of training in Japan or in third countries under the auspices of JICA.
