The Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau (IMC), Moldova, has been a beneficiary and reliable partner in multiple activities and projects financed by JICA. Such activities and projects have contributed to improving the quality of medical services at the IMC by utilizing modern medical equipment which has been properly maintained by a biomedical engineering division established under JICA's technical cooperation.

This year, the IMC marks 40 years of activity. On the occasion, on November 3rd, the IMC held an official event with the presence of the management of the IMC, the representatives of medical and sanitary institutions, and relevant medical specialists. In addition, high-level officials including the Prime Minister H.E. Natalia Gavrilița and the Minister of Health H.E. Ala Nemerenco and international partners were invited to the plenary session.

At the event, Dr. Sergiu Gladun, the director of the IMC, kindly awarded a Diploma of Honor to Mr. Satoshi Sugimoto, Resident Representative of JICA Ukraine Office, to appreciate JICA's continuous cooperation with the health sector in Moldova.
