Seminar on physiotherapy and nursing professions

On September 15, two volunteers from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Mr. Onishi Kaito and Ms. Asakawa Makino held a very interesting seminar on "Physiotherapy and Nursing Professions" at Uzbekistan-Japan Center (UJC). The seminar was attended by UJC visitors and youth interested in these field.


The first part of the seminar was conducted by Mr. Onishi Kaito, who gave information about physiotherapy, why he chose this profession, and what kind of educational institution he was trained to become a physiotherapist. Mr. Onishi mentioned that physiotherapist may face with some difficulties, but the recovery of the patients, helping them to return to their former way of living gives them a lot of joy, and this made them love their profession.

The second part of the workshop was continued by Ms. Asakawa Makino. She also came to Uzbekistan in the frame of JICA volunteer program, as Mr. Onishi. Currently, she is a nurse at one of the Rural Medical Center in Kuva, Ferghana region. She compared the work of nurses in Uzbekistan and Japan.

Exciting exercises were organized for participants during the event, and at the end of the seminar they could get receive answers to the interested them questions.

Physiotherapy helps people affected by injury, illness or disability to restore their movement and function. And a nurse is often the first person you see when you're sick. Both professions help people who faced difficulties with their health condition.

The aim of the seminar was to encourage young people to be interested in the professions of physiotherapy and nursing.
