The Project held a training course for local technicians (L/Ts) of target areas and cooperative areas in one week (from 23rd to 27th November, 2009) in Ba Vi cattle and forage research centre. 24 technicians attended the course and 19 technicians received the certificate of the course.

The course focused more on practice rather than theory. They had a practical case of uterine torsion on the first day, and had a trip to Tuyen Quang to treat some sick cows of Future Milk Company on the second day, along with some samples of teats and 2 cow hired by the project for practice in the following days. The trainees had a chance to observe and did the treatment in practice. Dr Minami together with Mr. Phuong Van Vy directed the trainee how to do the operation in some complicated cases like abomasums displacement, getting foreign items in the rumen of the cattle and connecting intestine.

After the course, the project delivered 18 survey papers to ask the participant how they thought about the course. All of them found it good or very good for them.
