Project Summary

JICA's First initiative for Building Safety

Objective:

To develop the capacity of PWD engineers regarding construction and retrofitting technology

Goal:

Safety of the buildings is enhanced so that the response activities after disaster events are smoothly conducted

Outputs:

  1. Capacity Development of vulnerability assessment of existing buildings
  2. Establishment of design methods for retrofitting public buildings
  3. Development of capacity for implementing retrofitting public buildings
  4. Development of a good quality assurance system
  5. Acceptance of developed retrofitting techniques by other relevant engineers
