Benin's major industries are agriculture and harbor services. Its main agricultural export is cotton, and its economy is dependent on agriculture, with that sector employing more than 50 percent of the labor force and accounting for about 30 percent of the nation's GDP. JICA's support to Benin is primarily focused on 1) human resource development, 2) health and medical care, and 3) agriculture and rural development.
