What is JICA DX?

JICA aims to create an inclusive and sustainable society where no one is left behind, and where everyone can live a safe life and realize diverse opportunities and happiness by harnessing digital technology and data. The JICA DX Vision outlines the three transformations with nine actions to achieve this goal in the digital age.

JICA DXLab：Co-creation program with digital partners

JICA DXLab, launched in September 2022, is at the forefront of the JICA’s initiative in digital transformation for its ODA operations. The world is changing at an accelerating pace, and development challenges are now more complex and diverse. JICA DXLab will open up JICA's assets, such as ODA projects in 150 countries and the networks that JICA has cultivated, as a place for co-creation in the digital domain, accelerating both the resolution of issues in developing countries and the business development of digital partners.

Six Pillars of JICA DX

JICA is driving DX through six strategic focus areas: ①Enterprise DX, ②Digital Public Infrastructure and Digital Public Goods (DPI/DPG), ③AI Cooperation, ④Co-creation with the Private Sector, ⑤Cybersecurity, and ⑥Space. To realize its DX strategy, JICA is developing foundational digital architecture and implementing real-world use cases that address social and economic challenges in partner countries.
