Six Pillars of JICA DX

JICA is driving DX through six strategic focus areas: ①Enterprise DX, ②Digital Public Infrastructure and Digital Public Goods (DPI/DPG), ③AI Cooperation, ④Co-creation with the Private Sector, ⑤Cybersecurity, and ⑥Space. To realize its DX strategy, JICA is developing foundational digital architecture and implementing real-world use cases that address social and economic challenges in partner countries.

Supports the design and implementation of digital transformation strategies that enhance decision-making and improve operational efficiency in core infrastructure sectors such as water supply and urban transportation

Develops foundational data exchange platforms in areas such as public transportation and forest management, and promotes open data with them as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Digital Public Goods (DPG).

Establishes frameworks for AI - primarily for countries in the Global South - and support around 10 partner countries in formulating their national AI strategies and related ecosystem building.

Engages private-sector companies as lead implementers of DX use cases, supporting impact generation through business-driven innovation in developing countries.

Provides support for the formulation of cybersecurity strategies and insident response frameworks to mitigate threats such as ransomware attacks and data leaks in developing countries.

Addresses issues in developing countries by utilizing satellite data, building a comprehensive human resource development platform, and promoting co-creation with diverse players in the space sector from Japan and global partners.
