Applying the fruits of agricultural research in Japan back to African home countries !

Mr. MAYELE Mayindo Joseph from South Sudan, Mr. KOLLEH Jacob B from Liberia, and Mr. CHILUFYA Chunga from Zambia completed their master’s/doctoral program in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, on March 24, 2026, under the supervision of Professor SAKURAI Takeshi.
With zeal and dedication, these three scholars (long term participants of JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program) under the JICA Tokyo Center have demonstrated their capacity in research, and therefore, the fruits of their learning in Japan will be applied to solve issues in the area of agriculture back in their home countries in Africa. With the expertise they have obtained from the training while in Japan, we wish them all the best in their career development and in helping their institutions and communities.
