Emergency Assistance to St. Vincent and the Grenadines in Response to Volcanic Eruption

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the volcanic eruption, upon the request from the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

1. Disaster situation
Volcanic eruption, which occurred on April 9, 2021 (local time), has been causing serious human and property damage. According to United Nations, the damage situation as of 19, April was as follows:

Affected 7,411
Evacuees 20,000
Collapsed houses Unknown
Damaged houses Unknown
Economic loss Unknown

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse Miami,USA)

Blankets
Water Storage tank

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami, USA to St. Vincent and the Grenadines via Saint Lucia on the next available flight.
