On November 26, JICA President KITAOKA Shinichi held an online meeting with Dr. Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The two leaders exchanged views on dealing with humanitarian situations in Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Ethiopia. President Kitaoka commended President Maurer for leading the ICRC’s humanitarian assistance at the forefront in these countries. Both agreed to deepen collaboration between the two organizations in fragile contexts.

JICA will continue working with partners to achieve human security in developing countries.
