Emergency Assistance to the Philippines in Response to Typhoon Disaster

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the damage caused by Typhoon, upon the request from the Government of the Philippines

1. Disaster situation
Typhoon, which landed on 16th December 2021, has caused serious human and property damage. According to the Philippine Government, the damage situation as of 21st December 2021 was as follows:
Deaths 375
Injured 515
Affected 2,348,754
Missing 52
Evacuees 674,125
Damaged houses 139,007
Collapsed houses 53,797

2. Goods supplied
A. Date of decision: 20 December 2021
B. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Singapore)
Tents
Plastic sheets
Sleeping pads
Portable jerry cans
Generators
C. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Singapore to Manila on the next available flight.
