On June 2, JICA President TANAKA Akihiko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia Othman Jerandi at JICA headquarters.

At the opening of the meeting, President Tanaka remarked to Foreign Minister Jerandi that the minister’s visit to Japan has presented a very meaningful opportunity for deeper cooperation between Japan and Tunisia, and that he would like to continue strengthening cooperation with the country on the occasion of TICAD8 to be held in Tunisia.

In response, Minister Jerandi expressed his gratitude toward JICA’s cooperation in human-resource and infrastructure development. Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation aimed at promoting sustainable development and reforms in Tunisia in light of the various crises facing the international community, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the conflict in Ukraine.
