Emergency Assistance to Republic of Honduras in Response to the serious damages caused by prolonged rain

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the serious damages caused by prolonged rain, upon the request from the Government of Republic of Honduras.

1. Disaster situation
The heavy rain, which occurred around Mid-September, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to Government of Honduras, the damage situation as of September 28 was as follows:
Deaths 12
Affected 67,135
Missing 8
Evacuees 15,826
Damaged houses 1,902

2. Goods supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Miami)
Tents
Blankets
Portable jerry cans
Water purifiers

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Miami to Honduras (San Pedro Sula) on the next available flight.
