Emergency Assistance to the Republic of Mozambique in Response to Cyclone

The Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency relief goods as below in response to the cyclone disaster, upon the request from the Government of the Republic of Mozambique.
1. Disaster situation
Cyclone, which occurred on March 11, has been causing serious human and property damage. According to the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGD), the damage situation as of March 21 was as follows:
Deaths [165]
Injured [511]
Affected [about 886,500]

2. Goods to be supplied
A. Emergency relief goods (from the JICA warehouse in Dubai)

- Portable jerry cans
- Water purifiers
- Plastic sheets
- Tents

B. Shipping schedule
The goods will be transported from the JICA warehouse in Dubai to Mozambique on the next available flight.
