The objective of this project is to increase the volume and loading capacity of the road, improve traffic safety and lower vehicle operating costs for the Tengeru-Usa River, the New Kikafu Bridge, and the Moshi Town Sections. It will be done by widening the road into a dual carriageway, constructing a new bridge at Kikafu, and improving safety measures in the vicinity of the existing Kikafu Bridge. This will respond to the growing traffic volume and hence contribute to economic development and regional integration in East Africa. The project will contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 9, by building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.
