Signing Ceremony
On October 26, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Madagascar in Antananarivo, to provide grant aid of up to 2,257 million yen for the Project for the Development of Rice Seeds Production Fields and Facilities.
This project aims to increase the production of certified seeds in the Aloatra-Mangoro and Analamanga regions by strengthening the capability of the institutions responsible for their production and management, thereby contributing to the consequent increase in the production of certified rice and the achievement of self-sufficiency. This project will also contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goal 2 (Zero hunger).
