2020.04.30
JAAN held an online seminar on "COVID-19 - Problem in Nepal: Situation and Remedial Measures" with participation by JAAB on 30th April.
JICA Alumni associations consisting of ex-participants of JICA's training programs (Group and Region-Focused Training Program, Country-Focused Training Program, Training Program for Young Leaders, Nikkei Training Program, etc.) are established by ex-participants for promoting exchange and cooperation among them.
JICA Alumni associations are disseminating/expanding the achievements of JICA's past cooperation and maintaining/strengthening the network among the ex-participants, as precious human assets.
Although the activities by JICA Alumni associations are usually done within their countries, around 100 members of JICA Alumni association of Nepal and Bhutan participated in this seminar across the border. The participants exchange the information about COVID-19 situation, remedial measures, and social/economic influence.
In addition, Ms. Asakuma, Chief Representative of JICA Nepal Office and Mr. Watanabe, Chief Representative of JICA Bhutan Office stated the appreciation of this seminar for members of JAAN and JAAB, and introduced JICA's activities or contribution as countermeasure for COVID-19.
The participants posted that "It is a nice opportunity as mutual study," "Let us support to the members in trouble," "I would like to cooperate to JICA's activities as countermeasure for COVID-19" on the chat room.
