The Japan-Indonesia Hydrogen and Ammonia Development Promotion Workshop

2025.07.30

On June 26 in Jakarta, JICA held the 1st Japan-Indonesia Hydrogen and Ammonia Development Promotion Workshop and about 60 participants from both governments and private sectors of Japan and Indonesia attended the workshop.

During the workshop, we reported on the progress of the " Data collection survey for promoting hydrogen society in Indonesia" ( conducted by Dream Incubator Inc. and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd.). Participants discussed challenges and solutions for advancing a hydrogen society in Indonesia, and exchanged views on building a supply framework through cooperation. This workshop was organized with the aim of deepening discussions from a more practical and implementation-oriented perspective among key stakeholders, building upon the outcomes of the first and second Hydrogen Forums. It served as an important opportunity to advance the broad discussions held during the forums to the next stage, toward concrete collaboration and realization.

The Indonesian government has set a goal of achieving net zero by 2060. Together with our partners, JICA will continue to cooperate with Indonesia to achieve this goal.
