On the 22nd of April, 3 new JICA Volunteers arrived in Palau.

The three volunteers are, Ms. SEKIYA Rita assigned to Ngiwal State Government for Community Development, Ms. SUGAI Misato assigned to Belau National Museum for Librarian, Ms. KAMO Shizuka assigned to NCD Unit, Bureau of Public Health, MHHS for Nutrition.

They started their activities at their assigned offices on May 12, after the two weeks of after-arrival program with Palauan Language Training, various orientations, and courtesy visits to Palauan leadership. Their assignment period is 2 years.

The number of JICA volunteers now stands at 29, which is the biggest among the 10 JICA operating Pacific countries. Since 1997, the JICA Volunteer program has been constantly contributing to the development of the society and human resources in Palau through their grassroots activities in various fields such as education, health, social infrastructure, sports, agriculture, fisheries, etc. The total number of dispatch of JICA volunteers to Palau is now 329.
