Official Launch of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) Round 2 in West New Britain Province; The Project for Elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis Phase 2

In late-November, a ceremony in Kimbe officially marked the commencement of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) Round 2 under Phase 2 of the Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) elimination project.

Spearheaded by the Provincial Health Authority, this initiative aims to combat LF and other neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). The campaign distributes vital medicines across the province, fostering unity among communities to prevent these diseases. JICA provides significant support in areas such as logistics coordination and data management, ensuring smooth operations and efficient tracking of progress for the program.

Collaborating with the National Department of Health, WHO, USAID, and other partners, the region advances toward a healthier, disease-free future.
